Free Hajj, Umrah Pilgrimages Planned for Elderly in Pakistan’s Sindh
Kamran Khan Tessori unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at supporting the elderly and financially challenged students.
During his visit to the Sindh Government Hospital Liaquatabad (SGHL), the governor shared his commitment to enhancing the well-being of the community.
The key announcement was a commitment to fund Hajj and Umrah expenses for individuals aged 75 and above who haven’t undertaken these pilgrimages so far.
Eligible individuals can register with the Governor House, and recipients will be chosen through a fair ballot system.
Furthermore, Governor Tessori expressed concern for students whose parents struggle with the financial burden of education. He assured that the government would shoulder the expenses of fees and books for such students. Those in need encouraged to reach out to the dedicated helpline at 1366.
Hajj is a pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca that every able-bodied and financially able Muslim is obliged to undertake at least once during their lifetime.
